The Rogowski coil is an electrical device for the measurement of alternating current or current pulses. Its main advantage compare to other measuring methods (current or HV transformers, Hall sensors etc.) lies in it being open-ended and flexible, allowing it to be wound around a live conductor without disturbing it. Moreover, since a Rogowski coil does not have an iron core, it has got a low inductance and it enables the measurement of fast-changing currents that vary over time.
